brightd ist ein Dämon, der dynamisch die Helligkeit von Laptops reguliert. Die Idee ist dabei vom Verhalten von iBooks übernommen: Ist ein User über längere Zeit nicht aktiv, kann dieser die Helligkeit nach unten regulieren.

Das Programm ist nur dann aktiv, wenn nicht die höchste Helligkeitsstufe gewählt ist. Es ist mit jedem Display, dass die /sys/class/backlight/ Schnittstelle unterstützt, kompatibel.

brightd is a daemon which regulates brightness of LCDs dynamically. The idea is taken from the way iBooks behave: If a user is inactive for a certain time, it darkens the screen.

The program is only active until the highest level of brightness is chosen. It should be compatible with every display having a driver which supports the /sys/class/backlight/ interface.
